Cynthia Bernshausen, Artistic Director, 
Originally from Elizabethton, TN, began her training with Holloway Dancing School, under Wilma and Susan Pace, later studying at Harkness House, American Ballet Theatre School and North Carolina School of the Arts. Ms Bernshausen has worked with Milwaukee Ballet, Colorado Ballet, Tampa Ballet, Maryland Ballet, Ballet Met, Ballet Theatre of Annapolis, Theatre West Virginia and Southern Ballet Theatre, performing original works as well as soloist and principle roles in Swan Lake, Paquita, Nutcracker, Graduation Ball and Cinderella among others.  As Director of the Dance Department at the Performing Arts School of Worcester, MA and Artistic Director of the Worcester Youth Ballet, Ms Bernshausen was responsible for the development of the school, outreach programs, as well as the staging of original choreography and full length ballets.  Under her guidance the Youth Ballet joined the Regional Dance America Association Northeast and participated in international exchange programs.   Ms Bernshausen has acted as instructor and rehearsal mistress with RDA/NE Honor Company Cumberland Dance Company, now Pennsylvania Regional Ballet and as faculty with Ballet Spartanburg. In 1999 Ms Bernshausen joined the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet as full time faculty and continues to teach there during the five week summer session.

Tamlyn Bernshausen 
Originally from Elizabethton, training under Reece Toohey and Susen Pace, Ms. Bernshausen relocated to New York to train at the American Ballet Theatre School and with David Howard and Malissa Hayden. Ms. Bernshausen has dance with Berkshire Ballet, Chattanooga Ballet and Milwaukee Ballet performing Balanchine's 'Serenade', 'Graduation Ball', 'Valse Fantasy', 'Theme and Variations' and 'Scotch Symphony'.  Cho San Goh's 'Destined', John Butlers's 'Carmina Burana', Agnes de Mille's 'Rodeo', Frederick Ashton's 'Les Patineurs' as well as the very familiar 'Nutcracker', 'Swan Lake' and 'Coppelia'.  Ms. Bernshausen participated in the David Haward teachers workshop focusing on the kinesthetic approach to dance as well as Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet Teachers Workshop.  East Tennessee Ballet Academy is very fortunate to have Tamlyn's wealth of knowledge and experince.


Brad Parquette - Modern, Ballet, Partnering
Brad Parquette is a visual artist and dance instructor currently residing in Boone, NC. He is a former member of The Colorado Ballet, The Maryland Ballet, Ballet Mississippi, Ballet El Paso, and The West Virginia Dance Company. Brad has been a member of the faculty of The West Virginia Governor's School for the Arts, The School of the Maryland Ballet, and the Greensboro Ballet. He taught as adjunct faculty at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and has been a frequent guest teacher for The Professional Dance Teacher's Association. As a choreographer, his works have been performed by professional dance companies, college dance departments and regional training academies.
